Reduced Open Access charges while AvenSci builds its initial catalogue

During the initial catalogue-building period, AvenSci applies an introductory pricing strategy to eligible Open Access books and chapters. The objective is to reduce barriers for early authors and editors while maintaining the same editorial and production standards.

Commercial books €0 mandatory publication charge

Commercially published books are not subject to a mandatory author publication charge under the launch policy.

WAIVERS, FUNDING & INSTITUTIONS

Funding circumstances should be discussed before contracting

Where AvenSci introduces waivers, discounts, institutional agreements or funder-specific arrangements, eligibility will be assessed transparently and separately from editorial merit.

Funding disclosure

Authors should identify known funder or institutional Open Access requirements at proposal stage where possible.

Discounts or waivers

Any approved reduction is documented in the publishing offer and does not affect editorial evaluation.

Institutional payment

Where a university, grant or institution pays the charge, the publication agreement still governs the scholarly relationship.
